Not so hidden treasure

<For our final assignment, tell the tale of your most-prized possession. If you’re up for a twist, go long — experiment with longform and push yourself to write more than usual.>

As I already wrote about my most-beloved possession, I am a little bit stuck now, my old great-grandmother’s house covers that area of possessions for me. I though for two days and nothing…not a single damn thing. First I decided to write about my laptop since without it I have no access to my blog, but then, how much is to write about a laptop? Not very much and certainly not so interesting. This leads me to what I am about to tell. It’s about something that we all want and treasure above any material object, though it is both material and not. This is what makes us log into our blogs, to spend time editing and customizing them. What hunts our minds and hearts more than anything…yeah, it is our writing transposed into a book.  My book. You know what I am talking about, this  future that we all imagine. But when blogging, as the newbie that I am, I feel that I can’t have the one without  the other. This Is normality now. So I have two dearly “things” that I value greatly: my blog and my future book. Don’t know much about the second one, but I am only at the beginning of my trip, I’ll figure it out when it will be the time.

Participating for the first time on Writing 101 made me see from another point of view. Actually from more points of view that I could think of. When I walk I thing in a different way, I look in a different way and I describe more in my head. Sometimes I also do some type of editing. Can’t explain it, but I do it.  I have put poetry a little bit aside and looked from a divers angle.

During this twenty days, there were times when I did’t know what to say, or where to start from, or if it’s not extremely stupid what I just typed, but every single time I read an assignment I felt joy and eagerness. Now , this blog is my most important possession. I love working at it, I wish I had more time, but I try to handle it with the amount of time that I have.

Friday, when I saw the last task for Writing 101, I tried to thing about my car, house, childhood stuff, gifts from the ones I love the most, things that I accidentally found and nothing could take the adverb ” most”. Maybe it would have been easier to describe a house, an old and precious watch, a pendant from someone you lost , a book from your mom that you adore. As I said before, it took me two days to find out what can be treasured more. I am glad I finally got it and share it, because I know many of you understand perfectly what I just wrote. Good luck to all of us with our blogs and happy writing!

  1. That is perfect! I love your honesty, your open style that speaks directly to the heart of the reader. Innocence and wisdom – that’s you!

  2. I agree, you spoke from the heart and that could be felt while I was reading it. I will be anxiously waiting for your book…:)
